Careful checks. Clear boundaries.
BabyPassportCheck is an independent preparation tool for parents taking a real baby passport photo at home.
What the tool actually checks
The tool reads the image dimensions, locates faces when possible and suggests a crop. It estimates head framing and eye-line position from landmarks. You can adjust all three guide lines because a facial landmark is not an exact measurement of the top of the skull.
Light, background and sharpness notes use sampled pixels. They are rough indicators, not official thresholds. The tool cannot reliably recognize every supporting hand, expression, small shadow, accessory or sign of previous editing.
What happens when detection is uncertain?
Manual framing remains available if the model does not load or cannot locate a face. We show the uncertainty directly. There is no hidden “passed” result substituted for a missing detection.
Why original photos matter
Passport preparation does not replace backgrounds, open eyes, remove hands or smooth faces. When a photo needs those changes, improve the setup and retake it. Passport export applies cropping and print layout only. The optional AI keepsake feature is separate and must not be used for a passport.
How guidance is maintained
Public help pages link to U.S. government sources and show a review date. Our age selections help display infant-specific guidance; they are not a substitute for the authority's decision. We have not established an official acceptance rate and do not claim government certification.
About the sample image
The sample is AI-generated solely to demonstrate the interface. It is labeled throughout, and sample downloads are watermarked. It must not be used in any identity application.
